Send a message
Send WhatsApp messages with one HTTP call. The response is synchronous and automatic typing is on by default.
Text
POST /send/text
curl -X POST https://api.zapzapapi.com/api/v1/{instanceId}/send/text \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "x-api-secret: YOUR_API_SECRET" \
-d '{"number":"5511999999999","text":"Hello!"}'Minimum body: number (with country code) and text.
Without typing
For a near-instant response, turn typing off on that request:
body
-d '{"number":"5511999999999","text":"Hello!","digitando":false}'Frequently asked questions
How do I send a text message through the API?
Make a POST to /api/v1/{instanceId}/send/text with the authentication headers and a JSON body containing number (with country code) and text. The response is synchronous and returns the status and the message id.
What is automatic typing?
Every send shows the typing indicator on WhatsApp before delivering, for a duration proportional to the text length. This humanizes sending and lowers the risk of a ban. It is on by default.
How do I turn typing off on a request?
Send "digitando": false in the body ("typing": false is also accepted). The field is consumed by ZapZap and is not passed on. Useful when you need a near-instant response.
Can I send media, buttons and lists?
Yes. Besides /send/text, the API exposes endpoints for media and interactive messages. See the full interactive reference in the dashboard.
