WhatsApp API documentation

A REST API to send and receive WhatsApp messages through managed instances. Authenticate, make your first send and connect webhooks. Full interactive reference in the dashboard.

Authentication

Every request uses two headers, available in the dashboard under Settings and API:

  • x-api-key your API key
  • x-api-secret your API secret

Base URL

https://api.zapzapapi.com/api/v1/{instanceId}

Replace {instanceId} with the instance ID (shown in the dashboard). Account and instance management endpoints use /api/v1/instances / /api/v1/account.

First send

After connecting a number with a QR code in the dashboard, send a text message:

POST /send/text

curl -X POST https://api.zapzapapi.com/api/v1/{instanceId}/send/text \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "x-api-secret: YOUR_API_SECRET" \
  -d '{"number":"5511999999999","text":"Hello!"}'

Humanized sending by default

Every send shows the automatic typing indicator before delivering, for a duration proportional to the text, which lowers the risk of a ban. The response is still synchronous. To turn it off for a request, send "digitando": false.
