n8n templates for WhatsApp

Twelve JSON workflows to import into n8n and connect to WhatsApp through the ZapZap API. They use only native n8n nodes (Webhook, Schedule, If, Set, Code and HTTP Request), so they work on any install with no extra package.

How to use

  1. In n8n, open Workflows, then Import from File, and pick the downloaded JSON (or paste the copied JSON with Ctrl+V on the canvas).
  2. Open the Config node and fill instanceId, apiKey and apiSecret (dashboard, under Settings and API).
  3. For templates that receive events, activate the workflow and point the instance webhook to the Webhook node's Production URL (in the dashboard, or with PUT /instances/{id}/webhook).
  4. Edit the sample texts to your language and run a test with your own number.

Good to know

  • Message only people who expect to hear from you. WhatsApp can restrict numbers that send unwanted messages.
  • Secrets sit in the Config node to keep importing simple. In production, move them to your n8n credentials or variables.
  • Creating an instance (the QR code template) debits your ZapZap balance. Check the cost first with GET /instances/cost.

How the templates are built

Each template is generated by a script from endpoints that exist in the API reference (send/text, send/poll, send/buttons, send/media, chat/check, instances). The webhook shape follows the real envelope: instance_id, instance_name, event and data.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install a package in n8n?

No. The templates use only native n8n nodes and the HTTP Request node calls the ZapZap API.

Does it work on n8n Cloud and self-hosted?

Yes, both import JSON workflows. To receive events, n8n needs a public HTTPS URL.

Can I adapt the templates?

Yes. They are starting points: change texts, conditions and destinations.

How much does it cost to use?

The templates are free. The API costs R$ 15 per active number per month, with no per-message charge.
