CRM + WhatsApp integration

Integrate WhatsApp with Kommo

Kommo is a sales pipeline CRM (formerly amoCRM), used by sales teams to organize leads into funnel stages and automate the relationship. By connecting Kommo to ZapZap API, you use Salesbot and Digital Pipeline triggers to send WhatsApp messages automatically whenever a lead changes stage, without depending on the official API. ZapZap API works through unofficial WhatsApp instances: you connect a number by scanning the QR Code, receive the x-api-key and x-api-secret credentials and start sending messages through the base https://api.zapzapapi.com. The model is prepaid, R$15 per active number per month, with a welcome credit when you create the account, subject to the current campaign. Test the integration before going to production.

Why connect

A sales team receives leads from ads straight into the Kommo funnel. When the lead enters the "New contact" stage, Salesbot calls a webhook that sends a welcome message on WhatsApp through ZapZap API within seconds. When it moves to "Proposal sent", another trigger sends a reminder with the quote link. If the lead goes cold and lands in "No response", a follow-up sequence is sent automatically. The whole history stays recorded on the lead card inside Kommo, while the actual WhatsApp sending happens through your connected instance.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Connect the number in ZapZap API

    Create your account at api.zapzapapi.com, add an instance, scan the QR Code with the WhatsApp that will do the sending and copy the x-api-key and x-api-secret credentials generated for that instance.

  2. 2

    Prepare the funnel in Kommo

    In Kommo, open Leads and adjust your pipeline stages under Configure (the funnel's gear icon). Define in which stages WhatsApp should be triggered, for example New contact, Proposal sent and Follow-up.

  3. 3

    Create the Salesbot

    Go to Leads, open the Digital Pipeline panel and click to add a trigger on the desired stage. Choose the Bots action and create a new Salesbot in the visual editor.

  4. 4

    Add the webhook action

    Inside the Salesbot, add the Send webhook step. Point the URL to your intermediate endpoint, which receives the lead data (name, phone, stage) and calls ZapZap API to send the text.

  5. 5

    Activate the trigger and test

    Save the Salesbot, set the trigger to fire when the lead enters the stage and activate it. Move a test lead to that stage and confirm that the message arrives on WhatsApp and the log appears on the lead card.

Example

// ILLUSTRATIVE example: your endpoint receives the Salesbot webhook (Kommo)
// and sends the WhatsApp message through ZapZap API. Check the exact fields at
// https://api.zapzapapi.com/llms.txt

const res = await fetch(
  "https://api.zapzapapi.com/api/v1/{instanceId}/send/text",
  {
    method: "POST",
    headers: {
      "Content-Type": "application/json",
      "x-api-key": process.env.ZAPZAP_API_KEY,
      "x-api-secret": process.env.ZAPZAP_API_SECRET
    },
    body: JSON.stringify({
      number: "5511999999999", // lead's phone coming from Kommo
      text: "Hello! We received your contact and your proposal is on its way."
    })
  }
);

const data = await res.json();
console.log(data);

Frequently asked questions

Does Kommo send WhatsApp directly or do I need an intermediary?

Kommo's Salesbot fires a webhook, but the one that sends the WhatsApp message is ZapZap API. You point Kommo's webhook to a small intermediate endpoint (a serverless function, an n8n flow or a script) that receives the lead data and makes the HTTP call to ZapZap API with your credentials.

Do I need the official WhatsApp API to use it with Kommo?

No. ZapZap API uses unofficial instances: you connect a regular number by scanning the QR Code, with no Meta approval process, no pre-approved templates and no per-conversation fee. That makes the Kommo integration faster and cheaper to get live.

How much does it cost to keep the integration running?

ZapZap API charges R$15 per active number per month, on the prepaid model, with a welcome credit when you create the account, subject to the current campaign. Kommo is billed separately through the CRM's own plan. You only pay for the WhatsApp numbers you keep connected.

Can I send different messages at each funnel stage?

Yes. Each Digital Pipeline stage can have its own trigger and its own Salesbot, so you build distinct messages for New contact, Proposal sent, Follow-up and whatever else you need, each one calling ZapZap API with the right text.

Where do I find the technical reference for ZapZap API?

The complete reference of endpoints, authentication and body formats is at https://api.zapzapapi.com/llms.txt. Always use that document as the source of truth for the exact fields when building your call from Kommo's webhook.
