Conversational automation module

Flow Builder: build a WhatsApp chatbot without writing a line of code

What it is

Flow Builder is the visual WhatsApp chatbot builder in ZapZap API. You assemble the whole conversation logic by dragging and dropping connected blocks on the screen, ManyChat style, without programming anything. Each block represents a step in the dialogue: a question the bot asks, a condition that decides the next path based on the contact's answer, or an action the flow runs. By linking the blocks to one another, you draw exactly the path each person will follow when they message your number, from the first "hi" to qualification or handoff to an agent. It is the layer that turns WhatsApp from a manual inbox into a funnel that works on its own, answering and filtering contacts automatically.

Without this module, every conversation depends on someone typing by hand. The same triage questions are repeated dozens of times a day, leads arrive after hours and go unanswered, and there is no standard path guaranteeing that every contact goes through the same qualification sequence. Building this automation yourself would require writing code, handling each branch of the conversation by hand and keeping it all running. Flow Builder removes that barrier: the person who understands the support process builds the flow visually, adjusts the blocks when the operation changes and puts the chatbot live without needing a developer for every change.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open the visual builder

You enter the Flow Builder screen and find a blank workspace where the flow will be drawn. This is where the whole conversation takes shape, with the available blocks ready to be dragged onto the canvas.

  2. 2

    Drag the conversation blocks

Pull onto the canvas the blocks that make up the dialogue: question blocks so the bot collects information from the contact, condition blocks to branch the path according to the answer received, and action blocks for the flow to carry out tasks. Each block lands where you choose, building the skeleton of the support experience.

  3. 3

Connect the blocks to define the path

Link one block to the next to set the order in which the conversation happens. The connections define what comes after each step and how the conditions send the contact down different branches, creating the complete map of everything that can happen when someone replies.

  4. 4

    Configure questions, conditions and actions

In each block you set the content: the text of the question to be sent, the criterion the condition uses to decide the next step and what each action should do. This is the adjustment that turns the flow from a generic draft into an exact reflection of your operation's qualification and support script.

  5. 5

Turn the flow on for your number

With the design ready, the chatbot starts running on the WhatsApp connected to ZapZap API. From then on, everyone who sends a message automatically walks through the blocks you built, getting answered and qualified without manual intervention. Whenever the operation changes, you go back to the builder and rearrange the blocks.

Where to use it

Automatic triage of leads that arrive on WhatsApp: the flow asks the qualification questions, branches according to the answers and separates buyers from people just browsing, before any agent joins the conversation.

First-level support outside business hours: when nobody is available, the chatbot receives the contact, answers the most common questions with question blocks and keeps the person engaged until a human takes over.

Standardized qualification script for sales teams: every lead goes through the same sequence of conditional blocks, making sure the essential information is collected consistently instead of depending on each salesperson's improvisation.

Smart routing by interest: the flow's conditions read what the contact answered and automatically steer each person to the right path inside the conversation, organizing demand without manual triage.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code to use Flow Builder?

No. Flow Builder is a visual builder: you assemble the chatbot by dragging and dropping connected blocks on the screen, ManyChat style, without writing a single line of code. Anyone who understands the support process can design the flow on their own.

What kinds of blocks does the builder have?

The flow is built from question blocks, for the bot to collect information from the contact, condition blocks, which branch the path according to the answer, and action blocks, which the flow runs. You connect these blocks to draw the whole path of the conversation.

What is Flow Builder for in practice?

It automates support and qualification on WhatsApp. Instead of typing the same triage questions by hand in every conversation, you build a flow that answers and filters contacts automatically according to the script you defined.

Is Flow Builder a separate module of ZapZap API?

Yes, it is a module inside the platform. ZapZap API is an unofficial WhatsApp API billed at R$15 per active number per month on a prepaid model, and Flow Builder runs on top of the number you connect to bring the chatbot to life.

Can I change the flow after it is live?

Yes. Whenever the operation changes, you go back to the visual builder and rearrange the blocks, adjusting questions, conditions and actions. Since everything is built visually, you do not depend on a developer for each change to the chatbot.
